Beckton Barmaid M554 CH  (Champ x Hearld)

M554 was one of our selections from the 2003 Beckton sale. M554 has adapted well to our KY/TN conditions, particularly showing a short, thin hair coat and having the ability to thrive and do well on fescue pastures during warm weather. M554 is a moderate framed, easy fleshing cow with an excellent udder that has done everything we have asked her to do reproductively. The footnote in the Beckton sale catalog stated, “Barmaid M554 is a beautiful heifer with beautiful EPDs out of a dam with beautiful production averages.”  M554 is another cow that we consider near ideal for frame size, growth pattern, and fleshing ability.  M554 has three Cherokee Canyon daughters and two M361 daughters working in our herd and the Coyote Hills herd. In the Fall of 2006, M554 had 5 ET calves born by Beckton Julian B571.  This flush produced two bulls, 84S selling to Buffalo Creek Red Angus (Wyoming) and 77S selling to Mushrush Red Angus (Kansas.)  Of the three heifers from this flush, we retained one at Red Hill, sold one to Buffalo Creek Red Angus (WY) and sold one to a partnership of Hobbs (OH) and Schmidt (WA). More recently, M554 has been successfully flushed to Beckton Justice K449 and 1BWJ Julian 17P.

1BWJ Barmaid 54P (Cherokee Canyon x Champ)

54P is a daughter of the M554 cow above. She needs no introduction to followers of the Red Hill program, as she is the dam of our Lot 1 bull , 101S, in 2008, and 126T, Lot 2 in our 2009 sale (See Red Hill Red Angus Herd Sire page).  Both of these outstanding bulls posted impressive weaning ratios.  We are excited to offer 4 outstanding B571 x 54P flushmate brothers in our March 20, 2010 sale.  We are also offering 5 B571 x 54P flushmate heifers in our 2010 sale.  You don't want to miss these!
